Central Municipal Contact for Ukrainian refugees


The new contact point is at Diekampstraße 26, 44777 Bochum. Opening times: Monday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Tuesday to Friday 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The city of Bochum has a service hotline as an additional and supplementary advisory service. Citizens as well as associations and clubs can reach the hotline: 02 34 / 910 - 55 55 (Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) You can request information and information by e-mail: spontanhilfe@bochum.de. Elinor.network #Accommodation Ukraine

On the ELINOR website (available in German, English, Ukrainian and Russian) you can find a safe place to stay. To use the platform, you need to be registered on both sides. Validation with your ID documents is mandatory. In addition to this, for every user of the platform an insurance is in place - as the ERGO Versicherung cooperates with #Unterkünfte Ukraine.

Notice: We, as KOLLEKTIV are currently cooperation partner of Elinor // #Accommodation Ukraine. We work together to place refugees and hosts in Bochum.

The station mission in Bochum creates a contact point for you at the station. There will be handouts that provide you with the first important information. Refugee Law Clinic - Bochum

In cooperation with the Ruhr University Bochum, the Refugee Law Clinic provides free student legal advice for example on asylum and residence law. Volunteer lawyers specialized in migration law work are happy to assist you as well. The team is currently seeking additional employees speaking the Ukrainian language.

STUDIES

Ruhr University Bochum

On the website of the Ruhr University Bochum, you can check for already existing support infrastructure such as the “International Office”. In addition to this, the website goes deeper into financial support for foreign students as well as psychological study advice.

The MFH Bochum is a central information source, trying to give a full overview. ​

Psychological help

The Research and Treatment Center for Mental Health (FBZ) offers psychological support for refugees from Ukraine. In cooperation with the "International Office" at the Ruhr University Bochum, as well as internal and resident therapists, they support with therapies for children and adults. A network of 40 therapists offering help on a voluntary basis. You can reach the FBZ by email: zpt-ambulanz+refugees@rub.de

Corona-Warn-App

You can now activate the Corona warning app in the Ukrainian Apple and Google Store. You can manage your Ukrainian certificates in the app as well.​

Forum Gemeinsam für Integration e.V.

The association Forum 'Together for Integration e.V'. gives you an overview on social, civic and health issues. GEMI e.V. also offers you free initial advice when arriving in Bochum.

Rosa Strippe e.V.

Every Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., the association provides with its SENLIMA group offer, a protected space for young lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersexual (LSBTI*) refugees and migrants (age:14 to 27). Apart from that, refugees can also contact the association for independent advice on accommodation, asylum procedures and social and legal issues.

Bochumer Bildungszentrum e.V. - language courses

The "Bochumer Bildungszentrum e.V." offers refugees from the Ukraine a free language course, addressing literate refugees with no prior knowledge of German.

EDUCATIONAL AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

Cultural and educational center ISTOK e.V.

ISTOK e.V. offers the following service for refugees: Volunteers can interpret or translate for you over the phone! Face-to-face meetings can also be arranged during the weekends. You can also reach them by phone: +49 1590 7071274 (from 2:00 p.m.).

 

An additional offer is the free child’s club “Sunflower” for Ukrainian refugee children at a pre-school age. At the "Kulturzentrum Istok e.V." in Bochum, children are taken care of by Ukrainian and Russian-speaking teachers. The association wants to support them in their social and individual learning capabilities and teach them some first German expressions.

Integration Center Rostok e.V.

The integration Center Rostock e.V. offers language courses for children from the Ukraine (German, Ukrainian and Russian). Children and youngsters are welcome.

VFL Bochum 1848 Leichtathletik e.V.

Since 2017, the VFL-Leichtathletik e.V. has been nominated as official club for integration through sports (“Integration durch Sport”). Children from Ukraine are warmly welcomed.

Dancing in the Park: Ximba with Ximena Leon

Every Thursday at 6 p.m. Ximena invites you to the Ximba Open Air (On the Springerplatz 1, 44793 Bochum).

Language Café – IFAK e.V.

BOTOPIA – Meeting for Ukrainians & Friends

Every Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Botopia invites you to meet new people, exchange ideas and get to know each other. Here you can find more information.

St. Johannes Community, Bochum-Wiemelhausen

The community center 'St. Johannes' becomes a meeting place for refugees from Ukraine every Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Here information can be exchanged, as well as meeting new people or get to know each other better.

Cafe lysA

The "lysA" cafe offers the opportunity to learn, improve and practice elementary language skills (German). The Café lysA has been a contact point for refugees who are looking for an exchange with people from Bochum and also other people with a refugee background for years. The cafe is open on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. (Rottstrasse 30, Bochum)

Thomas Center for refugees

The meeting café takes place every second Monday (Thomas Center, Girondelle 82 in Bochum). Notice: 3G regulation (test option / corona tests nearby). If you have any questions, the IFAK integration agency "Steinkuhl" will be happy to help you: 0234-8597932.

The social department store “SoKa (Dorstener Str. 163, 44809 Bochum) is open Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Social department store - Tafel Bochum

The social department store of the Tafel Bochum (Laubenstr. 19-21, 44866 Bochum) is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Here you can find furniture, domestic appliances, clothing, textiles, toys and much more.

Immanuel Church

The clothing store of the Immanuelskirche (Hermannshöhe 21-23, 44789 Bochum) offers clothes and shoes for free for children and young people from refugee families.

Help phone

Culture helps culture – artists and friends of culture support refugees from Ukraine

The platform "Culture helps culture" is an initiative of the Kulturrat NRW and is intended to help refugee artists and from the Ukraine. Here you will find information and links on cultural life in NRW. There are also other links to branch-specific help portals. Offers and requests from private individuals and organizations can be posted and viewed on the advertising platform.
